Largest Coffee Painting – 421.96 m²

On March 16, 2025, artist Anandam from Ambattur, Chennai, set the Guinness World Record for the largest coffee painting. Covering 421.96 square meters, this masterpiece shows how coffee can transform from a beverage into a powerful artistic tool.

Attempted Record: Mahatma Gandhi’s Portrait in Coffee – 2020

On August 15, 2020, art teacher Sivaraman Rajalingam from Chennai attempted to set a Guinness World Record by painting Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait using coffee. The painting measured 2,020 square feet and featured 74 faces of the Father of the Nation, completed in 22 hours and 30 minutes. While awaiting official recognition, the artwork garnered significant attention on social media.

Longest Coffee Painting by an Individual – 102 m²

In December 2022, artist Mohd Azmi Bin Mohd Hussin from Malaysia set the record for the longest coffee painting by an individual. The painting measured 102 meters in length and 12 meters in width, created over 25 days using ground coffee powder mixed with water.

Largest Artwork Made with Coffee Grounds – 25 m²

In September 2019, South African artist Percy Maimela achieved the Guinness World Record for the largest artwork made with coffee grounds. The portrait of DJ Black Coffee measured 5×5 meters and was completed in less than four hours using roasted and green raw coffee grounds, covering the canvas with no negative space. In 2024, Chennai-based artist Sree Raj Santhappan created a coffee painting spanning 325.62 square meters. The artwork, which portrayed Queen Elizabeth II, was completed using coffee powder and water, highlighting the versatility of coffee in art.
